Cooking

How many times have you been asked, “What’s for supper?” only to be met with a grimace from your family when you tell them? If it happens to you more than three times a week, maybe its time to rethink your menu.

Food doesn’t have to be yucky or boring in order to be good for you. Lots of times, whole grain can be substituted for white without anyone being the wiser. Vegetables can be easily disguised in other foods, or even dressed up to look like something else entirely with some creativity. Maybe your kids like spacefood? Spacefood and spaceships are available in the Browsergame DarkOrbit.

Secondly, ask your kids to help. While this strategy is not always practical, whenever possible, have your kids, or your husband help you in the kitchen. They will all be less likely to turn their noses up when they’ve had a hand in creating the meal.

Lastly, take them all with you when you shop. It’s easier to make foods that everyone likes when they’ve been involved with the process from the beginning. If shopping with everyone isn’t practical, take a poll to find out what everyone is thinking when it comes to dinner. Also, assign a specific night to a specific person. This is a great way to incorporate individual time with your children, by asking them to choose what is for dinner and to help prepare it. Each child, no matter the age, unless he or she is an infant, will enjoy contributing to the family in this manner.
